In 'Suruvat,' which translates to 'The Beginning' in Marathi, my MA Final project takes the form of a graphic novel exploring the depths of the apocalypse through the lens of the protagonist's emotional journey. The story unfolds as a kaleidoscope of feelings and turmoil, both uplifting and harrowing, experienced by our central character. With a dynamic color palette that shifts in accordance with the narrative's ever-changing circumstances, the visual landscape mirrors the protagonist's inner struggles and external encounters. As she traverses the desolate landscapes, encountering remnants of civilization and the resilience of nature, there's a poignant exploration of the unknown and the beauty found within it. The narrative transcends the traditional notion of a destination, instead focusing on the transformative power of the journey itself, punctuated by the enigmatic encounters with the surroundings and the diverse array of animals she encounters along the way. 'Suruvat' serves as a poignant reflection on the human spirit amidst the chaos of an uncertain world.

The creative process behind 'Suruvat' was an intricate journey of exploration and expression. It began with extensive research into apocalyptic themes and narratives, delving deep into both fictional accounts and real-world scenarios to capture the essence of societal collapse. Sketches and drafts were essential in visualizing the protagonist's emotional journey, mapping out the highs and lows of her experiences amid the chaos. Experimentation with color palettes became a pivotal aspect of conveying the shifting moods and atmospheres throughout the narrative, ensuring that each scene resonated with the intended emotional impact. The story evolved organically as the protagonist encountered various surroundings and animals along her path, each encounter contributing to her personal growth and understanding of the world around her. The absence of a clear destination allowed for a more fluid and introspective narrative, inviting readers to contemplate the significance of the journey itself. Through rough sketches, concept art, and continuous refinement, 'Suruvat' gradually took shape as a testament to the resilience of the human spirit in the face of adversity.
